[HALIFAX, NS] — MT&L Public Relations Ltd. has appointed Mark Renouf and Kevin McCann as principals at the firm.

Formerly vice presidents with the company, they join existing principals and co-owners Kim West, Janet MacMillan and Sarah Young who have run the marketing and communications firm since 2002.

Before joining MT&L in 2006, Renouf spent much of his career as a journalist with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in London, England, where he held a number of senior editorial positions on programs covering national and international politics, economics and current affairs. He has worked across Europe, in Russia and in the Middle East. Renouf's media career began in Nova Scotia, where he graduated from the journalism program at the University of King’s College and then worked as a reporter for various newspapers.

Kevin McCann joined MT&L as vice president in 2010 and leads a digital team focused on strategy, development, social media, and design. For the 10 years prior, McCann served in senior roles with Edelman Public Relations (as senior vice president, Grassroots Group) and earlier Grassroots Enterprise (as director of online development and head of client services). Over the course of his career, he has led award-winning communications efforts for Fortune 100 companies, non-profits, governments and associations in the U.S. and Canada. In the latter 2000s, McCann developed and led the Canadian practice for Grassroots Enterprise.
