Premier Darrell Dexter is calling Jodrey, who recently passed away at the age of 98, a 'remarkable businessman and community leader'.

[CHESTER, NS] — Nova Scotia businessman John Jodrey is being remembered as a dedicated entrepreneur and innovator.

Jodrey died Sunday in Chester at the age of 98.

Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter issued a statement saying Jodrey was a "remarkable businessman and community leader" with a passion for life.

Jodrey served as director and president of Scotia Investments Ltd., which Dexter described as one of Nova Scotia's most important business innovators.

The company included several operations, including Maritime Paper Products and Minas Basin Holdings.

Jodrey was invested in the Order of Canada in 2000.

    I heard about John Jodrey and that he was a dedicated entrepreneur and innovator in Nova Scotia. Thumbs up to this community leader. Let's continue to recognize others in Nova Scotia for remarkable leadership and listen to solutions for Nova Scotia businesses.
